<br><br>Artyom Communist University ( of Artem) is an educational institution in the Ukrainian SSR that trained personnel for party, trade union and Soviet bodies during 1922 – 1932.<br>Story<br>It was created in Kharkov on April 1, 1922 on the basis of the reorganized Higher of the Central Committee of the CP (b) U, consisting of two departments: main and lecturer; subsequently two more were opened, journalistic and preparatory.<br><br>Named after F.A. Sergeev, known under the pseudonym Artyom… It was located in the building of the present Kharkov National Technical University of Agriculture. During 1924 – 1927 A.G. Shlikhter was the rector of the university. The training period was 3 years.<br><br>Important conditions for admission to training were stay in the party, as well as the presence of practical work experience in production, in the party or Soviet apparatus – in particular, according to the conditions of admission in 1922, it was necessary to have one year of experience, and already in 1926 at least 5 years. Summer courses for executives operated at the university.<br><br>On April 6, 1927, on the basis of the daily wall press, the newspaper „Artyomovets» was founded as an organ of the bureau of the party collective, the trade union committee and the university board. It was published twice a month with a circulation of 500 copies. Since 1928, the university has published the journal „Correspondence Communist University».<br><br>Among the academic disciplines of the university were:<br>History of revolutionary movements in Russia, Ukraine, and Poland, Western countries;History of socio-economic formations;Soviet construction;Economic Policy of the Communist Party;Party history and the national question;History of the trade union movement;Historical materialism, the foundations of Marxism-Leninism.<br>On October 7, 1932, the university was reorganized into the Higher Communist Agricultural School.<br>
