<br><br>Pavel Aronovich Bubelnikov (born October 9, 1944, Uralsk) – Russian conductor.<br>Biography<br>Pavel was born on October 9, 1944 in Uralsk in the family of Aron Solomonovich Bubelnikov, an and professor at the Leningrad Conservatory.<br><br>Graduated from the ten-year music school of the Leningrad Conservatory, piano class T. Rumshevich. He entered the piano faculty of the Leningrad Conservatory under Professor P. A. Serebryakov, continued his education at the Faculty of Opera and Symphony Conducting under Professor I. A. Musin.<br><br>As a conductor of the Maly Opera and Ballet Theater, he mastered the repertoire (from 1968 to 1993), which included more than 80 performances. Together with the director Alexander Petrov, he organized the State Children’s Musical Theater „Through the Looking Glass» (1987), the musical director and chief conductor of which he is to this day. In „Through the Looking Glass» he staged Menotti’s Medium, Donizetti’s Love Potion (in the 1995-1996 season he was awarded the St. Petersburg Theater Prize „Golden Soffit»), Stravinsky’s Story of a Soldier, Britten’s Noah’s Ark, Puccini’s Bohemia, Porgy and Bess «by Gershwin, operas by Petersburg composers.<br><br>Performs as a symphony conductor with the of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Society, the St. Petersburg State Academic, orchestras of Yekaterinburg, Chisinau, Minsk, Vilnius, Kharkov. Has staged productions of Verdi’s Troubadour in Tbilisi, Menotti’s Medium in Boston and Prokofiev’s Cinderella in Athens.
