      <br><br>Protestantism in Bosnia and – one of the directions of Christianity in the . According to the encyclopedia „Religions of Peace» by J. G. Melton, in 2010 there were 4.8 thousand Protestants in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Over the decade 2000-2010. Protestants were the fastest growing religious group in the country. According to the same encyclopedia, in 2000 there were 2.7 thousand Protestants in the country. According to Operation Peace, in 2000, there were 8 Protestant denominations in the country, uniting 59 churches and communities.<br>Historical overview<br>The first Protestants (Lutherans) appeared on the territory of modern Bosnia and Herzegovina as early as the 16th century, but no further traces of their ministry can be traced. In the 19th century, Methodists began missionary work in Bosnia, but they were unable to create a permanent ministry. In 1865, Baptist missionary Franz Tabor moved to Sarajevo. The Baptist mission was also destroyed and resumed only in the 1990s. In 1905, the Plymouth Brothers began their ministry in Bosnia, and Adventists in 1909. The Plymouth Brothers community had virtually ceased to exist by 1935.<br><br>In 1948 a Pentecostal community appeared in Brcko. Later the Pentecostals formed Evangelical Church of Bosnia and Herzegovina…<br><br>Since gaining independence in 1992, the activity of Protestants has noticeably intensified.<br>State of the art<br>Evangelical Church of Bosnia and Herzegovina unites 22 Pentecostal churches of the country (700 parishioners). The Church is part of the Worldwide Brotherhood of the Assemblies of God. A number of other Pentecostal churches exist outside of this union – this is the Church of God of Prophecy, Christian community of all nations, Christian Charismatic Church „Victory Center», Christian Pentecostal Church, The Redeemed Christian Church of God.<br><br>Five are united in the Christian Baptist Church of Bosnia and Herzegovina (200 parishioners). The Seventh-day Adventist Church reports 23 congregations and 695 church members (2011). In 2000, the 3 congregations of the New Apostolic Church united 190 parishioners. The country also operates Evangelical of Bosnia (Lutherans, 2 communities).<br>
